Any new lefty rifles scheduled out. Interested in anything abnormal, i.e....... other than the normal 30-06, or .270. Did Winchester or Browning ever come out with lefty WSM's?? Also did Remington really start producing lefty BDL's in short actions like .223 and .308. How about WSSM's or Remington Model 7's??? How about Savage's run of lefties?? 28,800 dial up is not going to cut downloading all of the pictures on each manufactures site.

Not exactly new left handed rifles, but Montana Rifleman ( http://www.montanarifleman.com/)is offering positive feed actions in left handed configuration. They have (or are planning on producing) actions from the mini to an action suitable for the .416 Rigby. I have four of these actions in left hand on order. GPT

Fellow lefty's, Winchester is coming out with left-handed WSM's in all the WSM calibers. The good news is its the featherweight stock. I am selling my left-handed Savage in .270 to a fellow lefty. It is a very accurate rifle and has taken its fair share of game, but I have always wanted a lefthanded Winchester Mod 70 in .270 Win. I am not interested in the WSM, the original is ok with me. My option is the Sporter LT version isnce the featherweight is only avail in WSM versions. The Savage shot 130gr Hornady Custom ammo at 3060 fps in a 22" tube. If I can get a Mod 70 with a 24 inch barrel, assuming similar performance, that should add a little to the velocity. That is enough for me. I just do not feel the slight increase in velocity the WSM has over the original is worth the additional powder / expense. Thats my opinion any way. Good shooting. Mark

Well I wish I could be a hog and buy 4 left handed actions. I could only necessitate one, which I'll have made into a .375 Remington Ultra Mag. Savage has been my only real outlet also. I usually pimp an action out to get made into something else. Just inquiring about new stuff that I may not have to dump an additional grand into in order to get a cool rifle. The Savage action guns are OK, but don't feel right to me. Would be nice to return to a Remington or Winchester with less moving or rattling parts. I have all of the bigger bases covered. The 223 WSSM would be a nice fast twist rifle for 75-80 bullets. Probably has a 12 or 14 twist, but at least I'd only be out a barrel. When Gundog said ALL WSM's, does that include the WSSM's????

My son, due to an accident as a 7 year old, is left handed and he just bought a Ruger M77 MKII in .25-06 with a 24" barrel. We installed a new Timney trigger, scoped it with a new Burris 4-16X and it shoots great. Lawdog

Jesse, I was only referring to the WSM's, not the WSSM's. I have not seen any info on lefty WSSM's. Sorry. Good shooting. Mark

This is a good year for us lefties! The last couple of years is easily the best selection that we've ever had. I'm looking forward to the left handed short action Winchesters. Last year I bought a 300WSM (Savage) and a 7mm Mag (Ruger). This year I've ordered a Montana short action lefty and will be buying a Remington VS in 223. It's nice to see that the gun makers are finally marketing to us consistently.

Remingtons short lefts are .243 and .308. Browning Micro's in the three WSMs and most other short action calibers. Ruger added a .25-06 in walnut/blue and lam/ss. Winchester WSM's feather weights. Plus all of the same old same olds... TTS

Understand your frustration in getting what you want in a left-hand rifle, expecially in a short action. I've bought left-hand Rem 700s in the long action and changed out with new take off barrels..now have a 25-06 and a .375 H&H! Rem has the BDL in .243, .308, and the long cartridges. I've bought two of their varmint rigs, the VS, one in .223 and one in .22-250. Sure would like to get a Ruger MKII in short action.

Leftys in 30-06 only.I'm looking at the Montana rifle actions. I saw one of the m70 in stainless/ wood at a gun show a couple of weeks ago. Also cooper, and I think kimbar have lefties. I heard lefty wsm, this summer.

Winchester made a run of LH .375s back at the beginning of last year. There are probably still some kicking around the distribution chain. Good basis for custom big-bore projects, and they shoot great! Mine cloverleafs most shots at 100 yards. Pertinax

Saw a Winchester 300 WSM in LH at the local store last month (but I already have a 300 Weatherby Accucmark). I bought a Rem 700 Laminated Stainless 7mm RUM a couple weeks ago because I wanted the wamrth of wood. Kicks like a mule. Perhaps I should of stuck with a weatherby, but the 7 RUM was the only LH wood stock rifle at the local gun show.

Yes. As a lefty, this has been very frustrating to me also, but it has had it's advantages. Did you ever notice how leftys can do so much more righty stuff than righty can do left handed? Because we leftys have been FORCED to buy certain right handed rifles, bows, knives, tools, etc we have adapted to live in a right handed world. I shoot a lot of skeet March thru September and usually shoot in the high 90's. Sometimes when shooting with my buddies, I'll switch and shoot right handed, and still manage to stay in the mid 80's while they can't even figure out how to hold the gun left handed! When I'm doing load development, the guys are amazed that I can switch from right to left handed without affecting accuracy, and they just can't even get comfortable holding the gun like a lefty does. The one problem I do have is that I shoot my bow right handed, and several times I have used the wrong eye to line up my sight pin on a couple nice bucks because I got too excited. No deer that year. But as all lefty know...... If the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body, then only left handed people are in their right mind! LOL, I do the same thing with the 22LR's. I regularily shoot a brick a week of 22 ammo and sometimes with friends who shoot only occasionally I'll outshoot them right handed just to tease them.

Spent over 5 years after returning from Nam as a marksmanship instructor. What was interesting was that all left-handed instructors had to learn to shoot right-handed, but the right-handers did not have to learn to use their left.

I'm a southpaw but most of my shooting now is from the bench. Right handed bolt actions are actually easier for us. Most of my rifles are Remingtons and their cheekpieces are usually pretty low on the stock so it doesn't make a lot of difference as long as the stocks aren't canted. If only a single company would give us short or medium left handed bolt action rifles it would end this nonsense. The remainder would be good little sheep and follow along. One company came out about ten years ago with long action left handed bolts in three different calibers. Immediately 4 different companies produced the same calibers. Only Remington and Savage dare to make a few medium and short actions for the southpaw, damn few at that. I think Tikka might also make some. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal

Has any one actually SEEN a Winchester Featherweight LH 270 WSM yet? I put one on order back in January and have been told that they are not available yet. I have been drooling over the catalog for the past several months LOL. I can not wait to actually get my hands on one.

This may be the wrong section for this post, but since we're talking lefthand actions, thought you might be interested in this. I took one of the new Savage pistols with the lefthand bolt and righthand ejection, stripped it of everything except the action and bolt. Put on a trigger and barrel from Shooters Supply and a fiberglass varmint stock for a righthand Savage. Cut the bolt notch on the left side of the stock. Now I have an excellent prairie dog gun which I work the bolt with my left hand and load easily with my right!

For a left hand bolt and a right side ejection port find a left-handed Remington 788. I have one in 308 Win and they also came in 6mm Remington.

quote:I used to be a Sako fan. But I think that Sako have not catered for us lefties since the Sako 75 came out. Only now we are seeing a basic version in one action length only. And how long have we had to wait? How many broken promises that the LH version will be out "next year"? Sako will not be getting any of more of my . Sod 'em. I'll stick with Heym who offer their entire range in LH. Regards
