Looking for my first Elk Hunt. Friend had suggested FordCreek Lodge in Augusta, Mt. Open to other suggestions as well. Thanks in advance.

Doing a quick Google search, I see that Ford Creek’s business is up for sale. That would be a huge red flag for me.

Here are three that I know do a good job and don't have any issues with wolves, or grizzlies:

Northern Rockies (Rich Birdsell)
Big Racks on MT (Michael Beattie)
Montana Hunting Co (Rob Arnaud)

I've never heard of Ford Creek Lodge and come from that area of Montana.

Ad in our local paper says private land 3 day cow hunt $900 with cabin lodging near Drummond MT. 406-360-7361

Don't know them, don't know anybody that has used them. Just passing along the ad.

This advertised cow/meat hunt sounded interesting until 7% success was entered into the discussion. I’d rather pay more to bring home some meat. Our Utah ranch/cwmu dried up on the cows due to State management issues. I miss the meat. Has anyone hunted with this outfit?

We still do not know which one of the operations he was talking about, or where the stats came from.
