You are pretty much limited to the National Forest around the wilderness areas. Some of those tags only allow taking bucks in the National Forest until early November when other areas open up. Otherwise there are some state lands and a lot of BLM land where you could hunt the drainages. You can camp at Little Sunlight Creek and hunt the fringes of the wilderness areas. Lots of good hikes from there or you could spike camp farther away from the roads. If the snow has not socked in the Beartooth Highway, you could camp at Beartooth Lake and hunt the high country. North and South of Highway 14 out of Cody and down 291 are possibilities. You are not going to find many trophies but could get into some 15-18" 4x4s. Oh yeah, you gotta check out this site: http://www.sdvc.uwyo.edu/ You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

I hunted up there for the first time last November. Got a small buck after passing up four others. Had a monster shot out from under me! (don't leave home without a rangfinder). I'll be up there this november to try my luck again. The HooDoo ranch has tags available for hunting. Its a pretty big spread and I did see a real nice buck taken. If you hunt the National Forest, be sure to pay attention to the Griz signs!!
