After a 19 year hiatus it's time for another antelope. I'm looking for some outfitter recommendations; not interested in a DIY hunt.

Here's the situation: I'm not in the best physical condition. I get around OK but multi-mile long hikes are out of the question. The biggest issue is my left shoulder. It's FUBAR. Offhand shots are something I did in a previous life but I'm good to go with a shooting rest. (How good? Ask the 14 deer and cow elk that I killed in 2012.)

I'm not looking for a trophy. A representitive sized buck would do just fine and a doe to go along with him would be a real plus. I'll be making the trip alone and would prefer accomodations at the ranch but staying at a motel isn't necessarily a deal-breaker. The budget is in the $2500 range.

Any suggestions?

On page 6 of this very forum is a post by Frank Beller listing just such a hunt. Might want to look at it and pm him for details.

We can help you 16 mile south of Gillette Wyoming on private ranches/leases. $1750 plus tax and you stay right at the ranch headquarters and it includes lodging, meals and guides. Licenses are very easy to draw in this area and there are usually leftovers. AirPort pickup is included in the price as well as taking your animal to the processor and taxidermist if you wish. This hunt would be in October.

I can help you out. I have a rancher friend in Wyoming. I've sent lots of hunters to him and have hunted with him 15+ times. Expect to kill 13 1/2" to 15" . (I killed several over 15".) $750 for first antelope and $500 for the second one. You are on your own for meals and lodging. He owns several ranches and leases several more. This is a fully guided hunt. You may have to drive out to the ranch in the morning depending on what ranch you hunt on.
You can call me if you like. 715-341-5695.

"Have you not asked Tim with Kiowa yet?"

Yes, I've talked to Tim at Kiowa. As you probably know I've gone on 11 hunts with him over the years. I've been a loyal client for over 10 years and have never passed up a chance to put in a good word for Tim and Kiowa. Note my avatar - it shows the results of the great time I had hunting mule deer with Kiowa earlier this month.

But, for whatever reason, Tim appears to be less than enthuasistic about taking me on an antelope hunt. Maybe he's just sick of looking at my ugly face..

Thanks for the lead.

Another good choice would be with our own Aaron Nielson and GHR in eastern Colorado. I did a antelope hunt with him and his (film) crew rotflmo last year. Great bunch of guys that will go the extra mile for you. Great food too all at a very reasonable price. I had a blast and would do the hunt with him and/or his guys again.
