Depends on what I'm hunting and where. For deer or bigger in the thick woods I prefer my 35 Whelen topped with Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5x38 or my FN Mauser in 30-06 topped by a Leupold Vari X II 3x9x40. For longer shots it's a 270WSM with Leupold VXII 3x9x40, for the hilly areas with lots of walking/climbing it's a m98 re barreled to 257 Roberts with a Leupold 2x7x32 Vari X II.

I am another of the own many hunt one rifle club. All of my big game hunting is done with a CZ550 in 30/06 with a VXII. I also bring my Marlin 1895 45/70 for a backup.

Yep, one's what I have. Wouldn't mind one or two more. Ruger MkII in 257 Roberts.

I thought that I might fit into this club, except that I hunt with one of two, as the mood strikes me. My main rifle is a M70 stainless in 30-06 with a 4x Leupold. I hunt deer, elk, moose, Mountain goat, bear, and the odd magpie with it. The backup is a M70 FWT in 6.5x55 with a 6x Leupold. It gets deer and coyote duty, mostly.
Good hunting,
Graham

Over the last 16 years, I have used a 100% stock Ruger m77 mII 300 win mag, with 3x9 Tasco world class. On only four or five days in that time, have I hunted big game with something other than the 300wm.

I bought it when I was 18yrs old, and have been using hornady 180's in it for the last 12+yrs. I keep buying other guns to hunt with, but when it comes down to it, the 300 is my hunting rifle, and I have the utmost confidence in it.

For 8 yrs it was my only centerfire rifle. It is big, heavy, loud, and it kicks, but the damn thing works like it should every time.

Savage 30-06 topped off with a Leupold Vari X III 3.5x10 x50. Very cheap accurate as hell, and dont mind dragging it thru the muck to get the job done.

I have a Browning Stainless Stalker in 338 Win Mag, topped with a Leupold 4x12. It is so accurate, I have had offers to buy it from me at the shooting range. I used it for everything from elk, deer, black bear, to plains game. Now, I hunt feral hog and white tail deer and a Savage 308, it fills the freezer every time. I am down to a one gun of 308, with a 338 in reserve when I return to Africa. Jeff in Texas
