JACKSON, Wyo. — Federal agents have killed two wolf packs after the animals attacked livestock near Kemmerer and Cody.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says 16 wolves, including 10 pups, were killed last week. The packs were suspected of killing three calves near Cody and a lamb northwest of Kemmerer.

Mike Jimenez, the service's wolf coordinator for Wyoming, says wolves have been a chronic problem in those areas in the past.

Defenders of Wildlife criticized the action, saying killing the wolves won't solve the problem and non-lethal methods should be used to discourage depredations.

Jimenez says the killings won't hurt the population of Wyoming wolves that live outside Yellowstone National Park. The population outside the park grew 26 percent last year to more than 200.

(It's a start...)

So the feds probably spent $50,000 or more to kill those wolves. The state of Wyoming could have generated quite a bit of money off that.

We have elected the stupidist group of politicians on the planet, who have put the most radical group of lefty Stalinist retards in the world in the courts.

Nope, maybe second-stupidest. The last bunch of Bushees didn't let anybody shoot them.

Duh! That's why the wolves were eliminated in the first place. They are a problem where ever they are.

It was pure stupidity to bring wolves back to Yellowstone and nortern Idaho, and even stupider to give them ESA protection.

+1
I think the reason the State guys shot the wolves was job insurance. If they allowed sportsmen to shoot the wolves, those guys might not have a job in the future.
But, as you say, the State COULD have made a lot of money opening it up to hunters who would have dropped the coin to get the chance to shoot a wolf. DUMB+P

Not me, but there's a guy posting here using the handle, Kudo, with maybe some numbers after the word, who has a son who, IIRC that guides hunts.
In any event, I am sure he can point you to someone who does guide Wolf Hunts in Wyoming. He lives in Wyoming, and keeps pace with the Wolf Problem there.
You might do a search to find him. I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in on this thread.

As of now there is no wolf hunting in Wyoming, just Montana and Idaho. Wyoming did not submit an approved Wolf management plan and so were not allowed to have management of the wolves. So for you to find a outfitter to guide you on a wolf hunt you need to go to ID, Mt, AK or Caada.
Good luck and get two if you can.
