Just had to brag a little! My son Ely killed his first deer(button buck)with a 204 and 40 grain Berger bullet yesterday. He hit it right behind the shoulder, taking out both lungs. Deer crashed after traveling bout 40 yds. 80 yard shot from an enclosed shooting house on stilts. He got to touch chunks of lungs and the heart, liver, eyeballs, etc. He had killed a couple of groundhogs and a rabbit previously. He started shooting squash and tomatoes while he was still in diapers with a 17 HMR. After we had the deer loaded on the truck he was sitting beside me on the console as we went down the driveway and he said "my heart was beating fast". That says it all right there. dancing I Think I have a hunting buddy. God Bless and Merry Christmas, Louis

Good for the both of you! Start them young and teach respect for firearms, never fails. thumb I'm sure some will question your choice of caliber and age of hunter, pay'em no mind, keep doing what you're doing. My own children started about the same age and safety and respect for the game hunted was taugh, never regretted it a bit.

Thanks you'll for the kind words. Ely helped me skin and debone the deer this evening. He was looking so forward to it he invited his cousin to come up and help. We'll have some in the pan if a few days and he will know exactly where it came from. Merry Christmas, Louis
