I'm going to be in Dallas this weekend and a few days into next week. Can any of you locals give me some ideas of things I must see and do?

Doc has a good idea, but let's be realistic now!

Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine (Close to DFW airport)
Cabellas in Ft. Worth
Billy Bobs in Ft. Worth
Baretta Gun Room in Dallas on Preston

I don't know what to tell you. I live here and when I want to do something .... I leave.

Bison Range near Lawton OK, is not so far. Drive up from Dallas, pay attention on the right side and you may see the camels in the creek bed, about halfway there. Once in the park, there is a road out the west ( I think ) and the town at the bottom of the hill has a splendid barbecue stand just before a set of railroad tracks. The brisket sandwich is outstanding. There are also elk on the range that can be seen sometimes.

I have the same problem, except I usually don't leave. I just give up and watch TV!
