That's a brute! No, it may not have broken 300, but rare is the pig that does. Yours is about as large as truly wild hogs ever get. CONGRATS!!!

A true 300 lb pig is a rare thing. Most guys estimate large, very large ... like 50-100% over!

This one, I do not think is exaggerated! That is a monster pig! Obviously you weighed it if you came up with 290#.

Congratulations. You probably scared 10# out of him. I won't tell if you want to just call him 300#.

Exactly. I have killed ... Jeez, I don't know how many pigs. Well over 100 I would guess. I can count the number of 180 lb + pigs without having to take my shoes off. Out of them all, only one went over 300.

Some years we will kill 100 pigs, some years 5.. I would guess that we kill as many 200#'s as 100# but have never killed a 300# feral pig.

I am not the hunter/killer in the picture. He reports that he cooked 1 of the Hams for Thanksgiving & it was great.
