Has anyone used the Petzl Tikka XP? If so what do you think of it for use and battery life. I've used the regular Tikka for a long time but I dropped and cracked it so am looking for a replacement.

If not the XP, is there a compact LED lamp you'd recomend? Thanks.

I have one; I haven't used it all that much, but so far I'm really, really impressed. The battery life is supposed to be off the charts.I don't know because mine haven't quit yet.

Chuck, try of of these pac lite. They are compact, very bright (with a high and low beam mode), have an amazing battery life and simple. Can also purchase a headband to use with it. I've got one in my hunting pack, and after using it for a while I swear by it.
