I was wanting to know what this gadget is called. It uses satellite to let the rescuers know if I were to break my leg out in the forest. It shows the coordinates of where I am at. I think you can text on it to. Saw it on a hunting you tube. My son(16) is always going out by himself and figured this gadget would come in handy. Thanks. | ||

The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. As Jason said, you likely saw in inReach from Garmin. I use and like the Mini, which connects to my smartphone via bluetooth and allows relatively easy two-way texting through Garmin's satellite system.
