Hey Fellas!

I hope you don't mind me posting these pics in the "big game" forum, but I didn't know where to put them. Besides, these birds have senses acute enough to match the survival instinct of most big game.

We were hunting my parents ranch in southwest Missouri. The birds were already "paired up" and we not very responsive to calling. Soooo... it was mainly a big ol' game of spot'n'stalk. As you know, that is tough to do for turkeys and we were busted many times. However, I shot at least 30 birds... with my camera!

I was "guiding" a couple of my med school buddies on the ins and outs of turkey hunting. One if from Cajun country in southern Louisiana (Houma) and the other is from Miami. Chasing turkeys was brand new to both of them.

After being busted the second time by a small flock at 225 yards away while slowly creeping through the brush, one of them said, "man, I have a whole new respect for these birds. No wonder people go nuts over hunting them."

Mikey's bird had a 10.5" beard. His spurs were rounded off quite a bit, but were still good and thick.

We were only able to hunt for two days, but the 1,850 miles we drove were worth it. We had a great time.

-Michael

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! 'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'
