Has anyone hunted the X-10 deer zone in Calif.? If so, how is it for public hunting? Roger (QSL)

You need to call that zone's DFG office and have them put you in touch with the area's biologist. He is called the unit manager. I've talked with, and worked with, many of these people over the years. With rare exception, they will teach you more about the zone, and the critters in it, than you will learn in many days of scouting and talking to locals, or other hunters. Good luck. E

Eremicus, Thanks for the info. I've hunted the Sierra's for the last 20 or so years and never new about the Unit Manager before. I hate the draw system here but I guess this is the only way they can control the numbers. I lucked out with X-9A the previous year but will probably never get it again. Hunted there many, many times before the change in zone rules went into effect. Love to hunt above the airport at Mammoth Mtn. Again, thanks. Roger (QSL)
