I'd trade my mother in law for that Al Biesen 338 if the owner is interested.

Typically one trades something of value for a desired object. I think the owner of the 338 might see through your plans. Nice try though.

Noticed the article left out the 338-378 which prooduces 1000-1500 more ft-lbs of energy. Some really nice rifles in the article though.

NMwater- Welcome to the Forum. The article is quite dated, as part of a resurrection of vintage hunting articles going on at the moment.

Clair Reese... Lord. When I saw it was an article by him I immediately closed it. Not a guy to be counted on for anything original or based on much real experience. Did I mention he can't write either?

Nick, I will add however I've enjoyed several of the articles you've posted, particularly JO's 30-06 piece.

His brother, Pee Wee, was a heck of a ballplayer.

Well that would make sense why the 338-378 wasn't mentioned then. Funny Story, I was in the Air Force and had orders to Galena. Tried to Order a Model 70 in 300 Weatherby Mag and got a .338 WM not once but twice. Stuck with my .270 and kept the shots close.
