After i had stapled down the camo on my wooden stand, i decided to stay away from there for a good long time so the deer would get confident, because my husband and me have been hunting our little patch of woods hard. So, i hadn't hunted that stand for some time, and about the time the squirrels came out along comes a deer out of the brush. It stopped with it's tail toward me and that branch i'd meant to cut was still right there in the way. Was holding the rifle with my elbow resting on knee and getting shaky because it wouldn't turn sideways. Finally i was able to get it's head in the crosshairs and pulled the trigger and it dropped right there, kicked a couple times and died. Couldn't see where the bullet went in, but it broke its jaw and there was brains coming out of the eye socket. The shot was maybe 45 yards with a .243 100 gr bullet. I'm happy about the shot because i remember pulling the trigger and it hit where it was supposed to and took it out quick. Plinker | |||
