My 25 year old daughter, Kelly, has been deer hunting with me for a few years and has killed several nice bucks. She started turkey hunting last spring and we came close a couple of times. Last Saturday she closed the deal on a nice Tennessee gobbler. He responded to my calls and came in from behind. Kelly had to scoot around and hold her shotgun up unsupported for a long time while the wary longbeard surveyed the scene looking for the source of the calls. He finally walked in and Kelly put a good shot on him. After killing a couple hundred over my 40 years of turkey hunting, this was the most exciting hunt for a long time. Kelly was happy to get her first turkey and I was even more happy. A good day!

20 pounds, 10 inch thick beard, & 1 inch spurs

That's fantastic!! My daughter is my hunting buddy as well. I still get more excited for her at 27 than I ever do for myself.

That's great, fine bird and good looking girl too!

Hey, thank you for not posting that crap: "Took, taken, and such". Right on that she KILLED 'em, That's the way it should be stated imo.

Thanks much for sharing and congratulate her.

George

Good job, Andy.

I've been thinking about you while I'm chasing turkeys all over Jackson County the past month. March was fast and furious, but April has slowed down for me.

Come visit soon.
