I am going on a sheep hunt in Sept. and am looking for a way to carry my rifle on my Kelty pack or purchase an external pack with capability to carry a rifle. Any ideas, suggestions?

Twilli I have a Alaskian Guide Pack Fram and where the little platform folds down I took a piece of 3/4 inch PVC and made a swivel on the bottom of it and clamped it on the right side. Then I made a U with with padding in it then took a piece of velcrow to hold the rifle. This is also on the right side of the fram, The barrel slids in the PVC and the floor plate and stock lays in the padded U. I can walk hands free but still flip the velcrow off and lift the rifle out of the holder as Im walking if I want to. This puts the stock above you right shoulder.I wish I had a camera where I could put a picture up for you . Probably wouldn't be to good if your in alot of timber because the stock is above the top of the fram. Bill
