I'm sure there are alot of people that know more the me about this. That said, my buddy and I hunted eastern Montana last year for pronghorn and upland. We hunted with a guide on Indian land. We had a great hunt, by lunch of day two, we both had shot very nice pronghorns and the rest of the hunt we shot ALOT of Sharpies and Huns. The hunt cost us $2600 each as I remember, of course, this included guide and lodging food etc. If you have any further interest I can pm you the outfitters info or post it here.

Wyoming has the most numbers, and on occasion produces B&C heads. MT, CO can be good, but if your really interested in B&C Antelope, then look at Texas (yes TX), NM and AZ. Getting a tag can be easy to near impossible, but you'll pay a premium on top ranches with landowner tags. I do not have any tags left for this year, but guided hunts typically run $1,750-$4,000 depending on the State, quality of herd and the guide service. Most run 3 day hunts. I've done many DIY hunts for them in WY and MT. One of my favorite US game animals.

As LDK stated above, the bigger bucks are to be had in NM, TX and AZ (almost impossible to draw). MT and WY have lots of speedgoats, but on average probably not quite as large as further south. AB also has pretty good pronghorn, and a few outfitters serving the hunting public there.

For what it's worth to you - I shot an SCI Record book buff in Africa once - and would exchange it in a flash to have had a pronghorn. A long shot at a very smart animal who is liable to spot you at distances where many of us need binocs. That's a real trophy animal and I wish you the best of luck.

If you were going to pay and wanted a truly big goat I would choose the panhandle of TX. although I live in mt where we have plenty of goats and some good ones I would choose somewhere north of Pampa TX. I drive all over the western U.S and I have never seen bucks as big as I have between Perryton and Pampa TX there are some real jaw dropping monsters in that country. It wouldn't surprise me to see the next world record come from there.

I checked with one of my NM Outfitters but he only sells 3 trophy Antelope hunts per year (guarantees a shot at a B&C buck) and they are sold. He has two hunts left for 75 up to 80 inch bucks for $2,500 each. As mentioned, a DIY hunt in WY is hard to beat. Study some maps, make some calls to the WY G&F and they will help you contact the area Game Officer. Stay in a local motel or camp ground and go hunt. If you do your homework, chances are fair to good you can take a 13" or better buck. I've taken a number over 15 inches and have seen 5 in the 17" range, but on property that I didn't have permission to hunt. Many landowners will let you access their property for free or a trespass fee ($25-$250 depending upon who/where and game). I took a heavy 14.5" buck on my first trip. If your truly looking at a one deal deal, and a big buck is your goal, I can't advise you any better than hire yourself a good guide, in a good area. It's worth every cent. I rank Antelope meat as my No. 1 favorite of all wild game. Never eaten a bad piece of it. But then I do my own butchering and cooking

The "Best" place to hunt them is from the cab of a combine or tractor. I can't tell you how many times I have had to stop and wait for them to slowly amble out of the way. They also like to walk up to you and look in the door of your pickup while you're eating lunch.

I can't believe anyone would hire an outfitter to "hunt" antelope but it takes all kinds...

Don't let so much reality into your life that there's no room left for dreaming.

I lived in Wyoming for 16 years and hunted a lot of antelope in the Buffalo, Sheridan, Four Corners, and Newcastle areas. Simply put it's a great hunting experiece. I've stood and looked in 360 degrees and seen several dozen antelope, the trick being judgeing the trophies and then the subsequent stalk.

That said, my next antelope hunting experience will be in western Colorado with Les Ohlhauser on his family ranch. He's an interesting character; former Army Ranger, Professional Rodeo announcer, and a top-drawer auctioneer. He's one of those guys you would want in your foxhole, who you'd want to drink a beer with, or you wished was your neighbor. Simply put, a class act.

The limited hunts on his place command a premium (in the 2K range???) but it's quality through and through. I personally know people who have hunted on his place and have nothing but good to say about the operation.
