There are enough bears here that they are near pest levels. That doesn't excuse mistreatment, but it perhaps explains how the "authorities" looked at it.

Agreed, it seems as though no one was in charge and someone was triggerhappy.
Worst of all, the clown that did the shooting probably considers himself a hero.

Not taking either side here.. But what where they suppost to do in this situation?
