Not much of a hunting season this year No out West tags and no archery hunting as I couldn't hold a bow up with my left arm......so This is what I did Wednesday Bone spurs and a detached deltoid...... now heal and rehab before the June trip across the pond with graybird and snellstrom I'm still out of it in this picture my wife took. She cleaned me up and put my hat on. The very first night trying to sleep with that immobilizer on was horrible ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

Good luck with your recovery, get well soon. Remember, a physical therapist will now be your best friend, follow their instructions to the letter.

Ted, Godspeed and best of luck healing. Remember: there is a reason they give you pain pills. No need to abuse them, but use them. Trust me, there is no need to try to cowboy your way through this. As my cancer surgeon told me about a month ago, "There is no therapeutic value at all in pain."

What he said! Hang in there and ease your way back. My experience would make me think that having a June trip to motivate you is a very good thing. Antlers Double Rifle Shooters Society Heym 450/400 3"

Good Luck with your recovery. The therapy is gonna hurt, but if you do as they tell you, you'll be back, maybe not 100% but it sure beats the options. Hope everything turns out well for you. Even the rocks don't last forever.

Ted, best of luck with your recovery. I've "been there and done that" with less than great results. My left rotator cuff was ruined when I took a minor fall in December of 2009. Had the same immobilizer as you, right down to the little orange ball. (The immobilizer won't be so uncomfortable when they take the spacer out.) I hope you mend well and quickly. As others have said, don't worry about taking the pain meds and follow the physical therapist's recommendations. No longer Bigasanelk

Thanks for the advice guys. I will definitely use it all andf I am for sure on the meds. I can't sleep without it. Funny....I lift weights and train year round. I do over 100 push up's 7 days a week but after the tear I couldn't even do one single push up. My wife tells everyone that "he's hurt so bad he can't even pull cover at night" she wasn't telling a lie ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

I had a total knee replacement of my left knee at 55. In 2011, I suffered an injury to my left elbow where the prognosis went from me dying because of the injury, to losing my left arm, to me up and being able with the help of a tri-pod, shooting ducks about 35 days or so after the accident. If you want to get well, you will, in spite of what anyone else says. I believe you will get back in shape and be ready to hunt again quicker than you or anyone else thinks. You are a hunter, that is plain from your posts and comments, you are not going to let this keep you down. Even the rocks don't last forever.

Glad your progressing Ted, you will get plenty PT when you get back in the shop. +1 on the old school journeyman, but being a lefty, that injury would put me right out of commission.Take it easy. jc

Guys Thank you all for the very kind support. Being off work for 3 weeks is nuts for me.....I am a 5 day 10 hour guy that doesn't like to sit still I have been doing rehab pt every Monday Wednesday and Friday with in between days home exercise. My range of motion is returning and my use of my arm has improved with far less pain each day. It's hard to believe that after the repair your arm quits working and you start over I'm back in the gym doing treadmill, stairs and leg machines. I will be ready by June and back to fighting weight by fall. ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

Between a knee replacement at 55 and a really messed up elbow at 61, I am as close to 100% physically as I have ever been in my life. Ted, you went into the situation with a great attitude and that is the key to the whole thing. The PT causes pain, but it is pain that will go away. Congratulations on your progress and to you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year. Even the rocks don't last forever.
