Maybe you could keep it varied by guiding on a South African ranch curing the NA 'offseason', it would earn little dough but there is NOTHING like hunting in the african bush. There are plenty of 7-14 day PH schools in RSA but you may find difficulty finding the first job as there seems to be an oversupply of PHs at the moment. Perhaps one of the booking agents on this site could help you get your foot in the door as an assistant PH for a year.

I think you "stumbled" on to the perfect plan (at least for a little while) Make whatever arangements to work for the fall for your uncle and make contacts to work as a assistant for someone in Africa during the US off season like Boghossian suggests. More experiance in a couple years and then you will have an idea if this is what you really want to do.
