Wild Hog Finds an Acorn??

Not too bad for an hour into the season last Saturday morning...

It is really a thrill to spend an hour enticing in a tom on a foggy South Georgia dawn.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

The bird had a 9.5" beard and (a little disappointing) spurs of 1/2" and 9/16" inches.

I'll be in the woods in the morning trying for another (and hopefully bigger) gobbler. I'll still be able to be at work at 9:00 a.m., too. Having a lease 20 minutes from work ain't half bad!

Congratulations, and don't take this the wrong way, but it looks like you shed a few pounds, congrats on that also.

Let's refrain from discussion of what the left hand might be doing? Smiler

OK, JudgeG, I apologize for even opening that door.

These birds can be a real challenge on their own ground, good luck on the next one.

No wood tip. Just a yellow band on a JR Cigar private label.

It's 4:45 a.m. and the guy I was going to take hunting this morning just threw up in my front yard with the flu. Poor guy! He's never killed a turkey and was really looking forward to it and wanted still to go, but I'm not sure that a loud "B-U-I-C-K" will call a tom in... I'm going back to bed and will try tomorrow if my buddy is well. Good night.. at least for what's left of it!

Let's see some more big bird pictures, please???

If 1115 takes a moment from the fun and sun...
I'm going to go to the cabin and get a bow therefrom to practice for the June bear hunt.. that is, if the rats haven't eaten it!

This was a Tiger Turkey, btw. I'll let you know if I hear any Hopewell birds!

Get brown!
