U.S.A. -(Ammoland.com)- When various far-left ecology and animal rights groups such as the Sierra Club, the Humane Society of the United States, the Center for Biological Diversity, submitted a petition, calling for the mandatory carry of bear spray by hunters, it made national news. The petition was submitted to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission and others. The petition claimed that “Studies show that bear spray is far more effective than firearms.”

That claim is not correct.

The petition was written about in several Idaho outlets, and nationally.

The Commission turned down the request that the carry of bear spray by hunters be mandatory. From lmtribune.com:

Their fancy slogan is based on "Fake News"
Seems the country is overrun with it these days.
Funny thing is that what the advocates of Bear spray are proposing will actually cost more people their lives or serious injuries almost as if they care more about the Bears than they do about humans...

The telling part of the report follows in Quotes.
"After reviewing 1,036 incidents from 1986 to 1996 when people killed bears in defense of life or property (DLP), the authors of the 1999 study wrote, “Most of the persons shooting brown bears or black bears in DLP circumstances indicated that no human injury occurred (98.5% for brown bears and 99.2% for black bears).”"

The real numbers speak for themselves.

They do care about the bears more than humans.

That is until they actually encounter an angry bear close up in the wild. Most of the lovers of bears, wolves, and other dangerous, wild animals are armchair naturists never spending time where those creatures lurk.

I am on a forum that has a lot of city people who has been Disneyfied. Who spend time in a wilderness area that I like to go to.

They really do not have clue what it is like to live among them.

Except for the week or so they spend on their vacation time.

Most well never encounter a bear, Mt. lion or wolf.

So according to them there is not enough of them and they pose no danger.

My dog and I take a 1-1/2 mile hike everyday down my town road.Tuesday I looked into the woods which right now does not have much under growth and saw a big black bear staring at us from about 50 yards away. The wind was blowing such as he could not scent us.I say it is a he because I heard him calling for a mate several times in the woods around us.He stalked us for about 1/2 mile and then disappeared.I was carrying my 44mag unholstered at the time.A very creepy feeling for sure.Last night he bent over my bird feeder which is 20' high and sits on top of 3" black pipe.I have my 12 ga. by the door now loaded and ready .OB
