Isn't anywhere near Africa, but
I will likely move here in the next few months and was wondering if any AR guys are in the Alabama Chapter of SCI and also thought I recalled that there was a good gun store near B'Ham. Can't recall the name.
Thanks!

L. David KeithYou can visit the SCI web site and get a list of local chapters. If not, give them a call and ask about it. They can give you contact information on the chapter.
Good hunting,
David

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

DTalaPsmith, I've lived in/around Bham half of the last 59 years!! Let me know if I can help you.
The gun shop is probably Marks Outdoors in Vestavia, southern side of Bham, on Hwy 31.

I'm not in Birmingham, but a couple hours away in Chattanooga. We have a decent SCI Chapter as they go.
The best gun store around is mine, Feather & Fly, in Chattanooga. We focus on higher end hunting guns and try to stay away from hand guns and black guns. We are dealer for Merkel, Caesar Guerini, Rizzini, CSMC, and others and have a vast collection of used double guns. Come by and see me when you get a chance.

tom ga hunterYou are 2.5 hours away from Atlanta. Chuck's in Buckhead is worth a week end trip.. If all you are interested in is big bores, call before the trip to see if they have any.

safari-lawyerI lived in B-ham for 10 years. Marks is the top gun store in B-ham.
SCI chapter is good IMO. I'm in it. We have a few guys that are big time hunters. Dennis Campbell who heads Grand Slam - OVIS is a founder and active member. Meetings are semi monthly in B-ham with a fundraiser, awards, gala in Feb or March.
I'm two hours northeast of B-ham. Glad to answer any other questions you may have.
