I'm in the 100 mile area and I'm seeing them here but the numbers are still low. If they are out here they should be out up there. I live at over 4000ft. Good luck on your hunt.

Saw my first bear last night. Cute, but strange little fellow. I approached him quite closely, about 10 feet away. He was down a little bank, fully aware of me. He jumped up a tree a little, then seemed to have a little trouble pulling himself up higher. Eventually, he came down and just stared at me, panting. Didn't really run away, woofed quietly oce or twice, that's it. I was concerned that it was either a yearling that had just been chased off by mom, or maybe lost it's mom... I decided it didn't need to be stressed out any further by me and left it alone. Strangely, I was wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts, and afterwards I wondered if he thought I was just another bear! Anyways, the bears are coming out, and you shoudl have no trouble with your hunt. Good Luck!
