This gentleman recently completed a hunt in Sept. 02 in Alaska with a good registered guide friend of mine. The hunter was celebrating his 40th birthday and he actually shot the moose on his B-Day! Hunts like this happen but it takes time and persistance and a hunter in good shape. I thought I might share with all his good fortune as well as the fact that there appears to be plenty of good hunting left in AK.

These hunts are expensive but those who want to hunt Alaska can do a good Caribou hunt with Bl.Bear and fishing for a more reasonable figure and this is probably the most affordable way to touch Alaska as a hunter, and we should.

66 inch Bull Moose

 -

8 foot Grizzly Bear

 -

He also took 2 above average Caribou Bulls.

I'll vouch for you Keith !

Sure enjoyed my AK caribou / black bear trip booked thru you this fall. Also my 98' moose hunt and 96' sheep hunt.

Hope to get something else lined up before too long.

Very nice and more than representative of Alaska trophies...nice paddles on the moose and good furring on the griz...no flies on the 'bout either. Congrats to your hunter, guide and the Atchesons for another nice outing. On his 40th birthday too...cool.

The griz has a barrel for a head...must have shot him close to the "line".

DB Bill,

Correct! 62nd parallel, the invisible east - west line that determines brown bear (south) and grizzly bear (north).

Is Bob Adams still doing his Black Bear/Caribou combo with ptmarigan and salmon fishing available if you tag out early?

Mike

Mike,

Adams has one of the best priced guided combo hunts I know of in AK. $3600 each 2+1 includes 8 day trip with 6 days actual hunting. Lots of bou in his area and real importantly, his hunts are mobile. Caribou are very nomadic. Includes Caribou, Black Bear and fishing on the Kipchuk river right in front of the lodge. 1+1 is about $4500. His hunt is unique in the fact that all of this is available with out huge area changes, so common in Ak.
Extra caribou for additional $700 plus license. This whole trip can be done for about $5500 to $6500 turn -key from continental states.
