I finally got my prized bull elk tag after 12 years of applying, MT. Emily unit.

Anybody else from Oregon?

Hart mountain,

wow, that's got to be the most hardest tag to get besides bighorn and mountain goat in Oregon.

What rifle caliber are you going to shoot?

Didn't realize I missed your post. I used my 270 WBY.

I drew a Mnt. Goat tag this year. 2nd season Elkhorns. About had a heart attack.

How did you do on your Mt. Emily hunt?

SBP,
couldn't go, had emergency back surgery after my left leg went numb and ended up with mild drop foot after the surgery was done. I had my neurosurgeon send in and signed some forms with ODFW and was able to keep my preference points!!!!!

Norseman, that is a total bummer! At least you got to keep your points. No points on Mnt. Goat. Random draw only. Years wise, every year since I could. Hope your healing well and can use those points up!

Dang, Norseman, I herniated my L1-2 disc about three months ago, and had the injection instead of more surgery. Not much pain left leg pain remaining, but do have left foot drop, and my neurosurgeon says I am NOT to try to pack out elk quarters ...

Bill/Oregon,
It's time for a horse or a mule for you in the wide open Deschutes county!
I sure like Camp Sherman and Metolius area.
