does anybody know what kind of velocities they are getting with the 22 inch barrel. i really like the feel and have an itch for one. the problem is the length of barrel. the gunshop had one and a bdl with a 24in barrel right next to it. i just liked the feel better of the model 7, so i just wanted to see the velocity

A shooter I know has a M 7 in 300 SAUM. He is getting 3200 fps and change with 150 gr. bullets using N550. Don't know the load but he killed an elk with it using 150 Nosler Part. Complete penetration and the elk hit the ground right there. He had it on video. He did have extraction problems with rifle when it was new. Sent it back to Remington and they fixed it. Shots fine now.
