Antelope romp on the Eastern plains of Colorado

ted thornAntelope romp on the Eastern plains of Colorado
My wife and I headed West to spend the week with some of our great friends from AR
graybird, taylorce1 and Snellstrom
Lots of old stories and lots of laughs
We tromped around and avoided a snake or two but eventually chased these two freezer fillers down.
Until we meet again my friends
Thank You from Ted and Tricia

DesertRamYep, a nicer pair of freezer fillers would be hard to find while dodging snakes.

Nice pronghorn.

graybirdThat little rattler was about a foot behind me, and I never knew he was there until Ted pointed him out to my son. He didn't even have enough rattle to make a sound. My son sure did have fun checking him out though. The concerning part is I had just dropped to my knees glassing some antelope.
Looking forward to the next chase!!

I went out to get the paper the other day; grabbed it at the end of the driveway, then walked back and sat on the front porch steps. Looked down and saw I had stepped about a foot from a rattler. A few years ago I was working around my pool pumps; as I was adjusting a valve I noticed one six inches below my hand.
If they are just sitting there, they are generally no danger - just don't step on them.
As for the antelope, man I need to hunt them again!

We'll leave the forky killing to my dad.
