Recently returned from hospital after treatment for various problems .I believe all were related to Lyme disease !! Take it seriously.
Problem #1 - few doctors are really knowledgable about it.
A nasty virus some doctors think it's worse than HIV. Unlike most it can attack cells from outside but can penetrate INTO cells and attack from there. Perhaps that is why it mimics other problems.I had mine for a while. Gotten somewhere in SE NY State about a year ago [ ??}. Caught in time treatment is with antibiotics. Not caught in time it could result in serious permanent problems !!

I have had it too, what saved me was a very long deployment to Africa where I was on anti-malarial for over a year.

Glad to hear you caught it in time. Nasty stuff wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Thanks!

I know a husband and wife that both have had it for quite a while and suffer from it terribly since it was undiagnosed for too long. Lyme disease isn't caused by a virus, it's caused by bacteria, best way to avoid it is dress properly and treat your clothing with permethrin to avoid being bit by ticks carrying the bacteria. I use the military soak version of Sawyers, ticks crawl on the treated clothing for about a minute then fall off and die, have watched it happen several times over the years I've been using it.

I've been dealing with having Lyme for several years now, I've been very fortunate as my symptoms aren't debilitating. Fatigue & lethargy slowed me down on a recent African hunt but i got my buffalo anyway. A major issue w/Lyme are concurrent coinfections, often a virus.

My best friend
& hunting partner died last year, diagnosed w/ ALS ( aka Lou Gehrigs Disease). He'd also been treated for Lyme several times over the years. A Lyme specialist, who knew I was a hunter, told me that Lou Gehrig loved to hunt too...on his farm in Lyme CT. Lyme disease wasn't "discovered" until years after Mr Gehrig's death... Go figure...

I found one of those nasty little buggers imbedded in my skin.I went to a Doctor who gave me a blood test for lymes and he started me on antibiotics that day.Even though I tested positive ,he caught it in time and I have no ill effects .If you even suspect you have had contact, get a test done.Everyone does not get the round bullseye so don`t use that as a negative diagnoses.
