Thinking about doing a buffalo hunt and wondered if any of you folks might share some advice. Thanks, smoker1

I hunted Oryx on the Armendaris Ranch near Truth or Consequences NM a few years back and we saw a lot of buffalo. I plan on going back one year to get one.

Drummondlindsey, thanks for your responce. NM is quite a distance for me. I guess I'm looking at the SD area. I know the Rosebuid does some hunts there and am just getting started with a contact. smoker1

depending on what kind of a hunt you're looking for. triple u buffalo ranch is near fort pierre (mid state) not much of a hunt, more like an assassination, but eating buffalo is really first class. other in the are are similar, custer park has a hunt, but its a drawing and hard to draw to. nebraska, montanna, wyoming all have people with hunts available. i know of one in colorado that is a hunt in that the buff are wild on a cattle ranch & you have to go after them

Funny you should mention the Triple 'U' Ranch. I just read an article in Handgunner where the writer recommends that ranch. I would like a trophy but am told the meat from a bull that size is very tough. Could shoot a younger one but they definitely look like an adolescent. I'm about 1,200 miles from there and even if I did shoot a younger one getting the meat home would be a bitch......driving alone. Thanks for your info, appreciate it, smoker1

Smoker1

Take a look at Twin Pine Ranch Buffalo Hunts in south eastern WY. I had a client that went on a Buffalo hunt prior to hunting with me and he said that he had a great time and the hunts were all spot and stalk and very reasonable.
