Had a couple of doe tags to fill a group of four does came towards me in thick brush. Head on I picked the first one aim at a spot of hair on its chest and fired. Came out of recoil.

All the deer jumped and one came towards me head on again I aim at a spot of hair on its chest and fired.

The one I shot at the 2nd time jumped and collapsed in about ten feet.

We looked and looked for a 2nd deer and could not fine any sign of one being hit.

Found only one bullet hole in the dead deer.

Looked some more no sign of a 2nd deer.

When I skinned the dead one out I found one bullet hole but two separate wound channels.

Two perfect chest shots but only but only one deer.

The old 99 with 165gr cor-loks did it again.

p dog shooter,

That is an amazing coincidence to have two bullets in one hole and it happened to me once. I shot a brown bear through the lungs and it made a abrupt 90 degree turn down hill. I hit again in the right hip and the bullet exited through the original entrance hole. That left us scratching our heads for a few but there was no other explanation since there were two separate wound channels as in your story.

I see the situation, I do not see the problem,

Congratulations on two well placed shots.

The only problem was I had two tags to fill and only filled one.

But then one in hand is better then two in the bush.

I'll tell that to the dozens of deer it only took one of them to kill.
