Just spent 10 dollars for my chance at the Wisconsin elk draw.

Most likely a better chance then winning the Mega lottery.

Application period ends May 31st well be interesting what the odds well be.

Oner thing about it though, if you don't take the chance you definitely won't get drawn.

Hope it blossoms.

Between my daughter, wife, and myself I have spent about 60 bucks on this years Elk application/raffle. With 70% of the funds going to Elk herd improvement, I think it is money well spent.

Good luck!

Hey, gonna give you my unsolicited two cents early on here. If you draw the tag, do us a favor and use a cool or neat firearm for the hunt. It'll make for a better story for us. Please, no 270 win in a Remington 700 shooting factory ammo. Big Grin

Good luck to you guys. I read the details on the DNR website. Compared to Maine’s moose hunt program, this elk deal looks really well thought out. Nice long season, once in a lifetime tag, pretty short period of time between entering drawing and the actual drawing. Good job Wisconsin

I live very close to the elk hunting area and have many contacts I can tell you if I draw all that well come into play.

Being retired I well spend a lot of time scouting.

There is probably more game killed each year using a 30-06 in a Remington 700 than all the rest combined. So what's not to like? He's killing an elk, not making a fashion statement. Smiler

I am very specifically asking him to make a fashion statement. Big Grin

The only 270 I have is a first year production 760.

Trying to think what would be the coolest out of all the suitable elk rifles and calibers I would have.

The most exotic one I have would be my 416 Taylor. The rest are fairly common.

It is a once in a life time tag so I well use what I think well kill the best for any shot I get to take.

That is a little funny.

But no, see what he said. First year production 760. Now that's sexy. 416 Taylor. Sexy.

An accurate big bore lever, (as long as it ain't a Marlin) to me would be fashionable as would a Sharps of some kind. A neat bolt gun or a Rem model 8 in 35 Rem?
