I've decided to put in for rifle elk in unit 61 for second rifle next year. i was wondering if anyone who has hunted it might be willing to point to a few areas as a starting point for my scouting.

My plan is to locate at least four good areas prior to the season. I've got some fgood info on where the bulls are at during muzzleloader, but I'm not clear on where they will be after some pressure.

Thanks!

Steeper and Deeper is where they'll be at after pressure.
Seriously wherever they were during muzzleloader season they will be just further from the roads from those locations. I found my bull quite a ways from the top road down a canyon on an aspen covered bench. My experience in that unit is limited to a few scouting trips and one season hunting it and I took a 355 Bull.
PM me if you want particulars.
Good luck drawing your tag and with your hunt.
