I'm looking for Nilgai advice. Be great to get a recommendation on an outfitter in south Texas for nilgai hunting. Am aware of options like the king ranch, but hoping some AR members have personal experience and recommendations about where to to, when to go, etc. Wondering if there is a good combo hunt - maybe axis and nilgai. Thanks for any advice you guys can provide.

Try Lendall Laxton of L &L hunting service. Have hunted Trophy Nilgai bulls with him a couple of times in South Texas. I think January through March are great times to be down there. He can also hook you up with any exotics. I think his website is www.llhunts.com

Google the Armstrong Ranch. Its huge & abuts the King Ranch. Its the Ranch where dead-eye Dick Cheyney shot his buddy in the face while quail hunting. Its loaded with nilgai. I did a cheap meat hunt there for a cow nilgai, hunt was over in 1/2 hour. Hunted javel;ina/predators on other ranches for rest of days. The ranch mgr. will guide you. You can be picky on bulls & they taste GREAT! Good Luck!

Hunted nilgai on a number of ranches in the Wild Horse desert and Lendall's outfit is top notch. Also try Lomas Chicas Outfitters in Sarita.
