Does Non-Typical Outfitters cover area 35? I drew a 035-1 tag for this year and so far the only outfitters I have found for area 35 is Big Horn Outfitters which is owned by Dustin and Rich. They bought out A Double J Outfitters where at least Rich was a guide.
I hunted with an outfit by the same name based in Cody, Wyoming back in 1997. It was run by a fellow named Bryce Antley at the time. I contracted for a Mule Deer trophy hunt. In a week of hard hunting, I saw nothing larger than a fork horn. My guide was a nice enough fellow, but didn't know the area at all, and was reluctant to get out of the truck and climb any hills to glass. I saw far more wild horses and antelope than Mule deer. There was also a real poaching problem with the area we hunted, with daily encounters with road hunters shooting into private property from their vehicles. I also saw more people hunting from quads than I had ever seen before. Don't know if it's the same outfit you're looking at or not, but would not book with them again
Nontypical Outfitters that is owned by Robb Wiley is a great outfit, but he only works the west side of the state. 35-1 is in the BigHorn Mountains near Buffalo and the link below are the main outfitters working in that area
I have, twice, and planning a third. I was looking for a place to take my 87 year old dad to get an elk. We both grabbed some leftover cow elk tags at the last minute and hunted a private ranch leased by them and filled both tags. Last trip I just used them to drop me off by horseback for an elk hunt. A little tougher hunting, but successful. IMO, Rich and Dustin will take care of you. I've only used them for elk, but I understand they slay deer and antelope like crazy.
These are not the same guys that had the name in 1997. Apparently that group folded (perhaps with good reason) and these guys picked up the name recently when they bought out A Double J Outfitters.
AlaskaJim,
I'm glad to hear you had a good experience with them. I went ahead and book an archery elk trip with Big Horn Outfitters and am looking forward to it.

Have fun, as those units are fantastic for elk with some big bulls if you can get on one, especially on a September bow hunt during the rut! If plans go right, I'll be out helping a guy on his early bow hunt in 45 in September and probably my best buddy who lives in Sheridan if he draws his bull tag later this year during their draw for another unit near there.
