Shot a few pheasants and huns Saturday morning and then hit the hills on Saturday afternoon for an elk hunt and was lucky enough to score on a decent six point.

The dogs much preferred the pheasant hunting but it was a great Saturday.

Had a chance to hunt solo as my two daughters were all booked up with Halloween activities. I love hunting with them but sometimes the solitude is nice sometimes.

Hope everyone is enjoying a great hunting season!

Congrats on a great bull & a "dream" day! Hunting pheasants over your dogs & taking
a big bull elk sounds like perfection. If you could have taken a few browns or rainbows
on a fly, you would have had a "Western McNabb"!

Congrats again!

Look up "Good Saturday" in the dictionary and it would probably have this post linked to it.

Super job, lovely pictures. You've got to love those dogs!

And now for the million dollar question: so how did you get the bull out?? Backpack on your own??

Nice bulls, getting me excited for my own elk hunt at the end of the month in New Mexico. I hope I can take one as nice as yours, I am hunting unit #15 a muzzleloader only unit, going to be a tough hunt.

Thanks!
