I just checked the website ( like I do every 10 minutes this time of year ) and the results for the drawings are out for Desert Sheep, Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goats.
Guess who didn't get their Desert Sheep tag again for the 12th year in a row, yeah me.
My brother was unsuccessful for Bighorns and Goats 10 years running.
Maybe my luck is coming with the Moose Draw ( 20 years of applying in Colorado).

I drew a sheep tag in 86 and was too choosy and ate a bowl of tag soup. 21 years later, I'm still waiting for another tag.

This is the first year I can apply for another goat tag since I filled one in 2001. Gonna be a few more years before I'm competitive in that draw again.

Here's hoping the moose tag comes through. This will make 20 years of applying for that one as well.

Anyone have suggestions for an outfitter, or anything else?

Congrats on the tag. I've helped a couple guys fill ewe tags in S32. My suggestion is to go to the town of Empire and there is a road that heads south, or left if you prefer, across the river. You can take that road way back in towards a couple mountain peaks named Democrat Mounatin and Republican Mountain. And no, I'm not making the names up. Warning, this road can flat out tear a vehicle up. You need a 4x4 with good ground clearence to make it all the way back in.

From that access road, you can get on top of the ridge that runs along the interstate highway. Lots of sheep use that ridge and the law says you have to be at least 1/4 mile from the highway. This access makes it legal to hunt the ridge. Rough country by the way.

Once on top of the ridge, you can skirt along the top on foot and glass into the canyons. There really isn't any particular place to try, sheep are spread out along the entire area. Don't forget to look into the rocky outcrops located within the stands of spruce on the far side of the ridge as well. Sheep use them as well as the more open areas along the front of the ridge.

If you are seeing lots of ewes and lambs, look elsewhere in the general area for the bigger rams. They tend to form up bachelor herds away from the women and children.

S32 isn't a very big unit but they give out 15 ram tags so that means there is a high concentration of Sheep. Also it is very accessible by main roads so you won't burn up time driving around although you will be under the scrutiny of many non hunting hikers and outdoors people while you are hunting because of this units accessibility and close proximity to Denver.
I have no leads on an outfitter for you but I'm sure they will be contacting you shortly, choose one wisely by reviewing their clients previous experiences.

MAC, I know that area, and the road, but have not gone that far in/up. Great info, thanks for the help.

Snellstrom, I am a resident. Actually, I live in Castle Rock so I'm almost hunting in my backyard. I am tempted to make this a DIY hunt but will probably book with an outfitter if for no other reason than a margin of safety (and a little help packing wouldn't hurt).

Now, gotta dig out the running shoes.
