The best prices I've seen have been at premier reticles. I'm in the market for a cheap vari-x 3 also. I think one price I have seen was $412.00 for 3.5 *10 matte. Maybe someone else knows of a better deal?

Check the Optics heading here on AR. There was a recent discussion of this company's customer satisfaction issues there.

I always go to: www.bearbasin.com first for my optics. You can't order directly off the internet but you can see their entire product line along with prices. They're good people to work with too. Bear in Fairbanks

Graf and Sons has a VariX-III 3.5-10X in matte for $343.99. The 2.5-8 is $10 cheaper. I recently got a "Close-Out" catalog in the mail and they mention they are trying to get rid of all the older models. Give them a look at: www.grafs.comNoCal

I recommend them very much as well, also for overseas shipments to "Old Europe". |

Lundboat. I would not consider price when I compared the 3x10 vise the 2 1/2 X 8. While the 3x10 is a little more power you loose what I feel is noticable field of view. I had both and decided the 2x8 gave me a better picture in close. I now have that scope on all my rifles. From varmint calling to big game. A friend on mine likes the 3x10 and know of another tha hs the 6x20 on his deer gun. No idea why you would want that much power on a deer gun but it makes him happy. I would look at the both on a rifle that you can shoulder if possible. Its surprising how much of a different picture you get with each scope at its extreme ranges.

I retract my suggestion. Graf and Sons has sold out of all their close-out scopes. I'm kicking myself for not picking one up at $339 while I had the chance.
