I'll post this in Canadian hunting, medium bore, and reloading as well.

Ok, I'll try and be specific, but brief.

I had a party of 4 hunters going to Alberta for black bear hunt/wolf beginning May 28-June 2. All 4 of us have paid for the hunts in full. One of the hunters absolutely CANNOT go now and the short story is, he is going to lose the hunt. The outfitter cannot fwd the money to a future hunt.

SO, here's the deal. This hunter would like to recover his money, obviously ($3250 for 2 bears and wolf license). So, his first choice is to get someone to buy his hunt, however, he will accept $2500. BUT, he has also conceded that he may just have to give the hunt away.

We spoke today (he's a friend of mine), and he said if he has to give the hunt away, he has a friend he's going to offer it to. He is to call me no later than tomorrow to let me know what his friend has decided.

In the event, this friend of his does not accept the hunt, it might as well go to someone willing to fill the slot.

This is a baited bear hunt. ALL OF YOUR COSTS HAVE BEEN COVERED EXCEPT YOUR TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM EDMONTON ALBERTA AIRPORT, TIPS, AND YOUR PORTION OF OUR RENTAL CAR(will be split 4 ways total), and whatever your costs are for meat and taxidermy.

I need to know if anyone is willing to go. We fly to Edmonton on May 26th and arrive around 1030PM on Northwest. We leave June 3rd (Sunday).

Now, if someone is willing to go, you have a good time, and are successful, you may wish to help my friend recover some of his money, but that is up to you. Afterall, you can't beat free. If I was in this position to accept such a hunt, I'd probably pay something after my return. I'll leave that completely up to you.

Please PM me immediately if anyone is interested. I know this kind of sucks for such a last minute order, but hey, someone may be hunting for free. We will stay at the Nisku Inn Saturday night, then drive 5 hours north on Sunday. 4 hunters will split 2 rooms.

I've responded to all PMs.

As of 1230pm today, I have not heard from my friend whether or not his friend is going. I called him and left a message on his cell. Hopefully I'll hear something soon.

I know that situations like this can really suck because of late notice but I was asked to put the word out. I hope it works out for someone.

I responded to PMs in the order they were received.

Anyone going MUST HAVE A PASSPORT. I will also need a fax number to send papers to you immediately for the outfitter to get your WIN number and waiver.

Sorry that this is to the wire everyone, but my hands are tied.

Also, just so I can let my friend know, if anyone is willing to reimburse him something, please let me know in the PM. That is completely up to you as is the amount. No one will be treated differently if you do not wish to compensate him in any way. I want everyone to know that. Everyone on our end understands the situation. In fact, if anyone is willing to compensate any monies, I'll give you Rick's info (the guy that cannot go) and leave that deal completely between the 2 of you.

Ok, here's the latest:

I spoke with Rick (the unfortunate soul who paid and cannot go), and he has talked with his friend about going. That person is supposed to let him know by tomorrow in the morning. This person is willing to pay Rick $2500, but he's not sure he can go.

I told Rick about those AR members who have sent me a PM. So he knows there are some interested in going.

I will keep you all updated the moment I hear anything. I'll check for PMs tomorrow off and on all day.

Latest update.

Outfitter may now fwd my friends paid hunt to a future hunt, but not confirmed to ME yet.

I have one hunter willing to go and pay the $2500. (said he wouldn't feel right without paying something). That is all I know as of right now.

Good Oh!

Glad things are working out. Hope your friend is able to enjoy the hunt another time, and that the party has a very good trip this year!
