Will be hunting bears in S. Colorado in late September. Elevation around 8,000-8500 feet, private land, steep, heavily timbered (ponderosa, fir, spruce, some pinon, with lots of oak brush). Of course, baiting is verboten. Advice on hunting methods, times of day, etc.?

Is there water on this place? If so, I always did well hunting near water around 2:30 in the afternoon.
