March is turning out to be a real rough month for big game here in the east. There is four feet of loose snow cover (since Valentine's day) and 25 below temps tonight. I am seeing the effects, dead turkeys, tom's mostly. They are probably starving. Anyone else seeing something similar? ~Ann

In Western NY (Buffalo area) we didnt get much snow till mid January, but its been fairly hard and cold since then. It appears to me, deer sightings and tracks seem to be down, but turkeys are all over the place. I think most people are seeing them more than ever. Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum

We are haveing such a hard winter here in Southeast , I don,t know if there will be a deer left standing by the time things green up in the spring ...We turn the clocks ahead tomorrow night and right now we have as a rule 4' of packed snow ....If the deer can,t survive on kelp they will die........ .If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

Things are much better here. Today it is mid 60s, sun shining, and turkeys everywhere (live ones that is). We had an excellent spring last year with lots of rain. This spring, so far, seems to be about the same. We had quite a bit of snow which there is still some here and there, but we've also already had quite a bit of rain, and more tomorrow.
