My hunting partners and I have hunted for elk with the same outfitter in Alberta several times. Here is his website. Check him out. http://www.outlaws.ab.ca/outlaws/elk.html We were planning on going back again in late September/early October of 2003 with deposits being already paid. He takes 3 hunters per trip or 9 total per season but 1 of us going to have to cancel. This is a horseback trip in the Canadian Rockies just outside of Banff Park for free range elk. They must have 6 points on one side to be legal and the area is a limited draw for the local which really cuts down on hunting pressure. We will see several 5 and 6 point bulls everyday, the rut will be in full swing and the country is drop dead gorgeous. The horses and camp are good. We had a full time cook and hot showers every day that I was there. If anyone is interested, please contact the outfitter directly or me at rrliljedahl@mchsi.com [ 01-04-2003, 06:31: Message edited by: Ron L ]

I know this outfitter personally and he runs a first rate outfit.I had him guide me for sheep(resident hunter as he has no sheep allocations) in the same area that he hunts elk in and as the above poster said the scenery is great and his camp is well set up.
