headed out Thursday morning. We are hunting near Steamboat. Taking a .300 rum and a .338 as a backup weapon. Has anyone been in that area this year? If so, let me know.

Hunt north and west, as far west as you can. Have had good luck in the area, but better luck west of Hayden and Craig.

Our hunt started off well saw lots of elk but it started getting warmer. By the third day it was in the 70s during the day and upper 30s at night. The elk went nocturnal. We left last Wednesday and drove back through a blizzard. why couldn't it come two days earlier.
