I was drawn for a buck tag in a good mule deer unit. The unit has excellent fishing. Truth be told, I would rather fish than hunt. Once a tag is filled, the season's over. I can catch & release all season long.

The brown trout and salmon spawn will be on.

I'll get in a week's scouting combined with a few days of wetting lines. Once the buckk season opens, I'll become a dedicate horn hunter. After my 5-day season, I'll be back after spawning browns.

OK, so you drew a tag. What state? What area? Share some details.

Just saying “I drew a tag!” Is analogous to saying ‘I got laid’. OK, good for you but everyone else did or does too, as the case may be. Share some details or it’s no better than gettin laid by a 4. We want to hear details of your 9 or 10.

From what I gather hunting being not near as important as fishing. How about one of us that hunting is top of the list using the tag?
Just a suggestion.

Utah, Plateau/Fish Lake.

God has a cabin at Fish Lake, I believe.

I'll be in Richfield by Wed and on the water by Thur...just days away.

I've budgeted a couple days for scouting. But where deer are in June doesn't translate to where they'll be come early Oct.

The absolutely most exciting outdoor adventures I've done have been all offshore fishing. Tie in to a 100 ahi tuna, and get ready for an hour adrenaline rush. Ahi, blue fin, and big eye tuna never, ever give up. Fisherman give up before tuna give up.

I'd rather do a week at Crocodile Bay Costa Rica fishing in Nov than any big game hunt. Once a hammer is dropped, a hunt is over. They ain't an over with fishing until a boat's captain says it's over.

georgeeld, are you still shiffin' behinds for the smoke ;-) If you're smellin' it, it's because you're bent over at the waist ;-) I'd much rather see bent rods ;-) But killing a symmetrical 4x4 muley buck ain't half-bad.
