I want to get something clear.
I dont hate TX.
My father is a TX native.
The only part of TX i dont like is the Dallas Ft Worth Airport.
I spent a little time in SA cross training w/ some K-9 guys from the USAF, never left the base but i was "dog tired" by the end of the day.
I dont care what you boys do.
I dont care how big you grow deer.
how much feed you stuff them with.
i dont care how high you build a stand and how far you can shoot the deer with.
I REALLY DONT CARE.

What I do despise with a passion is people who fly out to a "ranch" have someone choferr them to a air cond/ heated box blind were they are shown pictures of bucks then shoot a deer that was selectivle bred for and had been bottle fed at birth. only to be offered corn, pellets and protiens laced w/ extra minerals and nutrients to enhance antler groth. ear tagged and tracked for 4-5 years. then when he is shot by the "hunter" the hunter rides back to the lodge while the servants drag hang clean and prosses the animal. then ship its head and hide to the taxidermist only to have it hanging on said "hunters" wall. then he satnd before it like he did something special and calls himself a hunter.
that is BS.
NOW.
If what i said makes you upset or angry.
if it offends you that i said that then i guess you know what i think about you and your "hunting"
If im not talking about you then why should it bother you.
AM I SAYING TX IS THE ONLY PLACE IT HAPPENS?

NOPE!

it happens all over the place.
DOES IT HAPPEN IN TX?

YEP!
all the time.

so why is that picking on TX?

either your a hunter or you aint.

if you know deep down in your heart that the deer you kill you deserve for more reasons than you paid for it then good.
if not then your probably pissed.

Realy??? This is what you wrote in just ONE thread:

"...ya'll are still legally allowed to call it hunting?

...not yet, but we also dont call shooting deer in a pen "hunting".

...theres a guy in GA that grows 5 pound bream as well. i dont figure he'd be allowed to drop a line in one of his ponds and enter the fish in the state record books.
maybe in TX.

...Furthermore when you act like someone did something special when they killed a big buck in a wildlife refuge with 600 acres+ of farmed food and arranged habitat

...TX is like feudal Brittan where the game was the property of the lord and if you hunted it you were imprisoned or worse.

...TX fair chase includeds man made waterholes, corn feeders, 100 acres plots of LabLab pretty much anything.

...how long till you guys stake a live estrus doe to a pole and use her for bait?"

---

Would you like for me to post more???

KS - anyone with a brain knows that the problem is not confined to texas. some time ago, JTEX pointed this out, rightly, and asked everyone to keep the debate state neutral. that was actually working until some clowns from texas insisted on bringing it back in.

they want to use it when they think it is to their advantage (wow, look at that BIIIIIG TEXAS BUCK!), but when they get their ass spanked for it (wow - nice fence/feeder/eartag/hormones), they cry foul.

a bunch of whining bitches - real texans must be ashamed of them Frowner.

lookey chief.
i dont really care.
i have been hunting since seasoned opened. i already have a buck down and a couple meat deer.
im hunting this weekend and every weekend till January. Im spending 8 days hunting in AR with my day for thanksgiving.
Im gonna kill deer this year just like i did last year and just like i have for the last 25 years.
im gonna stalk and climb and still hunt. im gonna glass fields and sit up under cedar trees in the bottoms. im gonna have a ball.
you know why?
because i dont have the pressure that I have to kill a monster to impress someone else or to stoke my ego.
Iv already impressed anyone i cared about impressing.
My 3 girls think thier daddy is the great white hunter. they all (9 year old twins and the 3 year old) eat rare venison tenderloins.
My father says im the best hunter he's ever seen.
i have a handful of people that would call me to track a deer before they would put a dog on its track.
so, do i care what you boys have to do to get a deer?
not really, man.
if its so hard for you to hunt that you need those cameras and feeders and fences and guides to hold your hand and lead you to the deer then i guess thats what you need.
i did to till i was about 12, but i was a slow learner, too. most kids around AR are self sufficiant by 10-11.
