Next up....New Mexico Cow Elk 4 deer shot this year....3 does 1 buck all with 140 Nosler Accubonds over 62 grns of H4831SC with 270 WSM The Nosler accubonds were both recovered from the buck as I shot him the 1st time North to South and second and last time South to North as he ran strait away from me. The 1st was found in between the hide and left hind quarter and the last was just under the hide in the kneck. Both bullets travled nearly through the entire bucks body length. The one on the left weighed 98 grns and the one on the right weighed 91. These are the first bullets I have ever found this intact. ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

Hey Ted, All that fine venison and I'm too far away to drop in for a visit. Any details of the Hunt you might want to toss in? All those fine Deer need some good stories to go with them. Good Hunting and clean 1-shot Kills in New Mexico.

Nice work... I think you will find cow elk is excellent and your 270 wsm very good medicine for them Mike Legistine actu quod scripsi? Never under estimate the internet community's ability to reply to your post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence issue. What I have learned on AR, since 2001: 1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken. 2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps. 3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges. 4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down. 5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine. 6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle. 7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions. 8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA. 9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not. 10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact. 11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores. 12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence. 13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

A brief study I conducted in Missouri showed signs these deer died from lead poisioning. ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

Funny the 270 works just about every time its applied. I would say those bullets worked as Nosler intended for them to work. As for this lead poisoning business, look they Spent a couple of billion on those California Condors, to keep then from going away for ever. The Problem wtth that Bird is simple, the conditions where it lives changed, and it didn't change because G.W. Bush was president. Its been an on going thing for the last 1000 or so years. It can't adapt so it going to die off. The lead bullet thing is a big CYA. After the spent a huge amount of money and it didn't do any good so they need something to blame. Guess what guys is us and our bullets. Its like the Salmon Restoration in Connecticut. That been going on for dam near 45 years and the best they ever had was 308 fish returned. It had to been at least million dollars a fish and that was better that 20 years ago.

George, Right on!! Isn't it interesting that the Liberals all go into the hysterical mode when something comes up like the lead thing. They hop on that like a fly on fly paper, proclaiming, with no investigation of the facts, that the lead IS the cause of the problem, and then the minions all applaud, who also have zero capacity to think rationally. Of course the Liberal Media beats the drums and then lead becomes the bad guy. Zero science involved, all hysteria. Look at the dimwit Al Gore and the nonsense he's spewed about Global Warming....

I like picture #2 with the buck and rifle. It looks like two support sticks and some careful work to get him to hold his head up like that. I don't have any objections to art, it is just art as cover for left-wing BS that I object to. Liberals believe that criminals are just like them and guns cause crimes. Conservatives believe criminals are different and that it is the criminals that cause crimes. Maybe both are right and the solution is to keep guns away from liberals.

I hunt alone and have to take my own pictures it is hard to get good pics by yourself. In the past I could only get animal/gun pics I now have a compact monopod in my pack and can get myself in the picture with the use of the timer. Missouri Dept of Conservation says it's lead study is because lead was found in donated meat (Share The Harvest Program)....I feel this is a probably bull. I contacted Sierra Bullets here in Missouri and was told they feel that there is a large "Liberal" movement in my so called Conservation dept. ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

Hey Ted, I'd expand that(bowl) movement to nationwide. The very first thing the scum-of-the-earth obammer did on the morning after the election was to take a very cheap shot at Mrs. Reagan. "You can take some of the scum out of Chicago, but you can't take the scum out of obammer." - Hot Core
