My brother Mark and I double-teamed this bull the second morning of our hunt. Of the four in our camp we bagged two pretty good Elk. Not much of a story. Just walked in before sunrise, sat down and waited. Stampede started around 8:00 and this guy and his dozen+ cows ran into us. Same thing happened on opening morning when my friend, Bob, shot his bull probably less than 200 yards from where we got this one.. As I was hauling it back to camp in my truck a young fellow coming down the road the other direction stopped me and demanded to see the bull. After looking at it he turned to me and said, "Two mornings in a row I chased Elk down to you and you guys shot them." I paused, and then looked him in the eye and replied, "Really, what are you doing tomorrow morning?. We've got two more tags to fill." I think he went away mad.

People used to be more helpful and understanding in the past. Big Grin You did better than most here in Southern CO. 9 day season and not a single sighting of anything that even closely resembled an elk.
