Not really shooting related but some fun things I do when there:

Go to the museums, there are some great cowboy, Native and western heritage things to see.

Go to the Botannical Garden, neato walking tour through native cactus. You'll most likely see wildlife. Once I "ran" into a desert tortise race. It was a boy-girl thing. Girl was making boy chase....

Drive towards Tuscon and go out into the Saguaro Nat'l Park and if you have time, Organ Pipe Catus Nat'l Monument. They are gorgeous to see and certainly you'll see wildlife.

Someone from the area can probably give exact details as I have forgotten. But there was a restaurant I went to there once up on one of the mountains surrounding Phoenix, at night looking down at the lights was spectacular.

Thanks for the ideas. I think i will check out the Scottsdale gun club soon. Now that the rain has stopped we have some outdoor family outings planned. I can check out shot placement at the zoo. At least the rain in Phoenix is better than the snow in Wisconsin. And it's 85 degrees warmer.

Thanks, Greg
