Anyone know anything , or care to comment on this part of the country ?

It appears from the G&F wesite there are quite a few cow tags left over for that area........

Area 61 is near Meeteetse. There are always alot of cow tags. Problem is that late in the season the elk have come down to lower elevations which is mostly private farm and ranch land. They are difficult to hunt because of the lack of cover and they can see you coming a mile away. There is one rancher who in the past has let people hunt as his dislikes elk. Last year he was charging $100.00 per hunter and if you killed an elk, he would refund you the money! His name is Martin Thomas and his phone number is: 307-868-9280. 30/06: I moved to Cody from Powell last March. I'm wanting to elk hunt for the first time during the general season somewhere in the county. Any suggestions?
